All Saints 005 200 0 -- 7 10 1 Santa Fe 310 000 0 -- 4 5 2 WP: Carson Ciavardone (4-0). LP: Bruno Dezayas. HR: Santa Fe, Austin Barnes (1). Records: All Saints 16-8, Santa Fe 10-14.
Carson Ciavardone stopped a first-inning rally and drove in the go-ahead run as All Saints came from behind to beat Santa Fe 7-4 Thursday.
With three runs in and the bases loaded for the Crimson Hawks with one out in the first, Ciavardone relieved All Saints starter Tyler Kelley and induced an inning-ending double play grounder.
After Austin Barnes tagged Ciavardone for a solo homer and a 4-0 lead in the second, the Saints took the lead with a five-run rally in the third. With one out, Greg Pitsikoulis and Garrett Doyle singled and Brenton Willis walked to load the bases. Tyler Kelley put the Saints on the board with a two-run single to left and Josh Searfoss singled to right to score Willis, the runners advancing to second and third on a throwing error. Ciavardone then drilled a single to left to score two and put the Saints ahead, 5-4.
Carson Fulmer led off the Saints fourth with a booming triple to center and scored on a blooping single to right by Pitsikoulis, who also scored when Doyle and Willis followed with singles to complete the scoring.
Pitsikoulis, Doyle, and Searfoss each had two hits for All Saints.
Ciavardone, who worked 6.2 innings on 98 pitches in relief, ran his record to 4-0 while retiring 11 straight batters in one stretch and striking out five.
All Saints finished the regular season 16-8 and hosts the 2A District 7 tournament beginning Tuesday.
