Web Design IThis course will focus on the definition, concept, creation, and implementation of information design. Students will learn to integrate multimedia and desktop publishing features. In addition, they will include animation and sound in web design applications. Students will use HTML coding, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and Macromedia Flash software programs. Web Design IIThis course is a continuation of Web Design I. Students will learn about the organizations, functionality, and structure of user interface design and interactive applications. In addition, students will study advanced topics in multimedia and desktop publishing as well as animation and sound in web design applications. Students will use HTML coding, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash software programs. One Semester, 0.5 credit
YearbookStudents will be responsible for the production of the school yearbook, Genesis. Students will develop skills in desktop publishing, photography, journalistic writing and editing, and business management. Enrollment limited to Juniors and Seniors. One year, 1.0 credit
Journalism I CPThis course introduces students to various aspects of Mass Media and acquaints them with the role of journalism, both print and broadcast, in a free society. Classroom time is divided between learning the fundamentals of media writing, layout and design, broadcast editing and speech, and communication law and ethics. Students will learn practical skills needed to produce a newspaper, yearbook, and broadcast news show. High School level class First Semester, 0.5 credit
TV Production/Wings RadioThis course introduces students to the basic skills of video and audio production. It acquaints students with video and audition editing, interviewing technique, public speaking, storyboarding, and camera work. Students will produce short projects to demonstrate their acquired skills. High School level class Second Semester, 0.5 credit
Individual Study This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity for quiet, independent study. Students will spend the bulk of class time completing work assigned in other courses. When assignments are complete, students are expected to use class time to practice reading, writing, analytical or research skills. Enrollment limited to upper school students. One semester, 0.0 credit
